– Bà Wang Tianzhen, 85 tuổi, ở Trùng Khánh không có điện thoại di động nhưng vẫn có thể liên lạc thường xuyên với cháu gái ở xa qua thiết bị thông minh.
Đầu năm nay, He Ranran đã lắp một chiếc camera thông minh sau khi bà của mình bị nhồi máu não hai lần. Nó giúp cô để mắt đến người bà ốm yếu dù cách xa 300 km.
“Chúng tôi muốn bên cạnh bà nhưng phải làm việc ở nơi khác vì cuộc sống. Đó là cách chúng tôi cân bằng giữa lòng hiếu thảo và cuộc sống riêng tư”, He chia sẻ.
Gia đình của He nằm trong số ngày càng nhiều hộ sử dụng camera an ninh thông minh để theo sát những thành viên cao tuổi đang sống một mình. Camera có thể kết nối với màn hình và có tính năng gọi video. Theo Tân Hoa Xã, năm 2022, hơn 48 triệu camera an ninh gia đình đã được bán tại Trung Quốc. Phần lớn người trẻ mua camera cho người thân.
Sun Yuda bắt đầu bán camera an ninh và thiết bị chăm sóc người cao tuổi khác từ năm 2019. Dịch Covid-19 làm tăng nhu cầu thiết bị loại này. Các biện pháp phòng chống dịch ngăn nhiều người đi xa thăm họ hàng, trong khi số ca tử vong ở thời kỳ đỉnh dịch khiến họ lo sợ. Mọi người dần nhận ra họ không thể luôn luôn ở gần với cha mẹ của mình, nhưng vẫn muốn chăm sóc chu đáo hơn.
Trung Quốc có hơn 280 triệu người từ 60 tuổi trở lên, chiếm 19,8% tổng dân số, trong đó hơn một nửa đang sống một mình. Tỷ lệ cha mẹ không sống cùng con cái là hơn 70% ở vài thành phố lớn và nông thôn.
Những rủi ro liên quan đến người cao tuổi rất khó tránh. Theo truyền thông Trung Quốc, cứ mỗi 10 người trên 65 tuổi lại có ba đến bốn người bị ngã và đây là nguyên nhân gây chấn thương và tử vong cao nhất. Hơn 30% dễ bị trầm cảm do thiếu người bầu bạn và giao lưu xã hội.
Vì vậy, Chen, sinh viên 22 tuổi, đã lắp camera an ninh trong nhà của bà. Cô làm như vậy do sức khỏe của bà xấu đi sau khi mắc Covid-19. Bà không thể cử động hay chạm vào điện thoại để xin giúp đỡ nếu bị ngã. “Bà có thể qua đời mà không ai hay biết nếu điều này xảy ra một lần nữa”, Chen nói.

Trên nền tảng mạng xã hội Xiaohongshu, nhiều người để lại đánh giá và gợi ý thiết bị công nghệ để chăm sóc người cao tuổi. Một số còn chia sẻ video minh họa cho thiết bị được dùng để kết nối họ với ông bà như thế nào.
Giáo sư Zhang Bing tại Đại học công nghệ Jingchu nhận xét,
việc lắp đặt camera an ninh giúp duy trì quan hệ giữa các gia đình bất chấp khoảng cách, thậm chí định hình lại các mối quan hệ. Trong cuộc khảo sát tại Hồ Bắc năm ngoái, Zhang phát hiện gần 40% người cao tuổi lắp camera an ninh trong nhà, gần 80% trong số này lắp trong ba năm qua.

Tuy nhiên, không phải ai cũng đồng tình với ý tưởng trên. Theo Sun – chủ cửa hàng camera, nhiều người già phản đối lắp camera an ninh vì lo ngại quyền riêng tư và luôn bị camera theo dõi. Họ không muốn lắp trong phòng ngủ, phòng tắm hoặc sẽ lén tắt thiết bị. Bản thân Sun cũng không lắp camera cho cha mẹ mà muốn một công nghệ gửi cảnh báo trong trường hợp khẩn cấp.
Ngoài ra, sự phổ biến của thiết bị giám sát trong nhà cũng đặt ra lo ngại về quyền riêng tư và thông tin cá nhân do tin tặc có thể đánh cắp và dùng chúng cho mục đích phi pháp. Chẳng hạn, năm 2021, Bắc Kinh tuyên án 5 năm tù một người vì tấn công 180.000 camera an ninh trên toàn cầu và thu lợi hơn 700.000 tệ sau khi bán quyền truy cập cho người khác.
Trong khảo sát của mình, Giáo sư Zhang chia sẻ, hầu hết các hộ ở nông thôn chỉ cho phép lắp camera tại sân hoặc bên ngoài nhà, khác hẳn so với thành phố. Vị giáo sư này cũng lắp camera bên ngoài căn hộ của cha mẹ năm 2021. Dù vậy, ông để ý thấy phụ huynh của mình né tránh camera sau khi bị con trai can thiệp vào một cuộc cãi vã.
Một số người trẻ sẽ không muốn theo dõi các thành viên cao tuổi trong gia đình nếu nó khiến họ cảm thấy không thoải mái. Thay vào đó, họ đến thăm thường xuyên hơn, chỉ dùng camera trong trường hợp khẩn cấp và đôi khi giúp người già giải quyết các việc khác.
Chen nói mình thường kiểm tra xem bà có dùng bữa đúng giờ không, đôi khi tua lại video để biết một ngày của bà như thế nào. Phần lớn thời gian bà của cô chỉ ngồi trên chiếc ghế bành gỗ trong sân.
“Nó giúp tôi đến gần bà hơn và cho tôi cảm giác yên tâm khi biết bà đang làm gì và bà thường làm gì hàng ngày”, Chen nói và chia sẻ thêm rằng nhờ camera cô nhận ra sức khỏe của bà yếu hơn, cô đơn hơn những gì tưởng tượng.
“Camera giúp chúng ta chăm sóc họ nhưng không thể thay thế tình cảm của chúng ta”, cô nhấn mạnh.
